Health benefits of microgreens

Microgreens aren't a "new thing," but they are finally getting the attention they deserve. The benefits of microgreens are countless.

What is a microgreen?

Microgreens are he baby version of a plant, harvested 1-2 weeks after sprouting. They are the best way to increase nutrient intake, and fight against disease and illness.

Because most vegetables are harvested at full maturity, we are missing the vital nutrients that the plant has not yet used to reach maturity.

Not all vegetables can be harvested early as a microgreen. There are about 35 varieties.

Microgreens are easy to incorporate into your diet, and therefor increase your nutrient intake. Put them on sandwiches, in smoothies, sprinkle them on your avo toast, use them as a salad add-in. Possibilities are endless!

Growing Microgreens

As urbanisation accelerates, the need for healthier, accessible food is increasing.

Urban agriculture especially controlled environment agriculture (e.g vertical farms, greenhouse, hydroponic systems, aquaponic systems, etc.) has become increasingly popular. In controlled environmental agriculture, the crops were planted in enclosed areas, where temperature lights and irrigation were monitored.

This keeps pest, mold, and other natural stressors away from Microgreens. This is one of the reasons we are able to provide a fully organic always pesticide free product.
